for osteopathy

Osteopathic veterinary medicine views the animal as a whole of body, mind and soul.

It doesn't treat symptoms, but looks for causes. It should be seen as a supplement to classic veterinary medicine and is recommended as such by the WHO (World Health Organization).

The focus is on the patient's self-healing powers. Every body has a strong power for health within it. The osteopathic doctor stimulates these forces and thus promotes self-healing.

Osteopathic medicine includes comprehensive diagnostics and therapy in the musculoskeletal system, internal organs and nervous system, which is carried out exclusively with the hands.

"All life is movement. Where movement is disturbed, disease begins." This is the quote from the founder of osteopathy A.T. Quiet. All structures of the body are closely connected to one another and influence each other. If tension, incorrect care or restrictions on mobility occur in one of these structures, pain or symptoms of illness arise that do not always have to occur at the site of the actual cause.

Over the course of months and years, entire chains of tension can build up in the body. Over time, structural damage to tissue or organs can occur (e.g. arthrosis). The osteopath senses these dysfunctions and treats their cause with his hands. In-depth knowledge of the anatomy, physiology and pathology of the body is essential. In this way, symptoms are alleviated and the body's own self-healing powers are mobilized.

Osteopathic treatment alone or in addition to medical therapy is useful for many illnesses because it supports the body in regenerating itself.

Osteopathy can be helpful for the following symptoms:

For diseases of the musculoskeletal system, for symptoms of paralysis, for unclear pain conditions, for skeletal and joint diseases (e.g. HD, ED, arthrosis)

Neuronal diseases (e.g. herniated discs, cauda equina)

Chronic diseases respiratory diseases, stomach and intestinal diseases

Incontinence, heat/horse problems

Recurrent eye and ear infections

In rehabilitation after operations, accidents, scar treatment

As a prophylaxis in puppy treatment

For sports, working and companion dogs to maintain optimal performance

For behavioral disorders such as licking eczema, restlessness, fears, apathy, listlessness

For rideability problems

To revitalize aging animals and increase their quality of life

If you have problems with the bridle and saddle

Health check (semi-annually to annually depending on the animal's stress

A calm and trusting collaboration with your animal is very important to me. I run a mobile practice for horses, dogs and cats, not least because your pet can be treated in familiar surroundings. For osteopathic treatment, it is beneficial to spare your animal the stress of transport and an unfamiliar environment.

The first treatment begins with a discussion of the current problem, any existing veterinary findings and any therapies that have already taken place.

A detailed osteopathic examination then follows. According to the holistic approach of osteopathy, the vital functions of the animal are considered as a whole. I try to detect malfunctions that occur manually

a) in the area of the skull, spine and sacrum (craniosacral osteopathy) and/or

b) in the area of the internal organs and their suspension (visceral osteopathy) and / or

c) can have their origin in the area of the musculoskeletal system (parietal osteopathy).

The goal is to eliminate the causes of the malfunctions through efficient, manual treatment, to mobilize the body's own self-healing powers and thereby improve your pet's quality of life.

Please note: I do not carry out conventional medical treatments. Collaboration with your pet doctor is therefore very important to me.

Dear colleagues!

In my practice I have specialised in osteopathic treatment. I do not carry out any vaccinations, laboratory, X-ray or ultrasound examinations and do not sell any medication.

For conventional medical therapies, operations or if further diagnostics are necessary, I am happy to send my patients to your veterinary practice!

If you would like to recommend osteopathic treatment to your patients as a complementary therapy, e.g. for movement restrictions such as arthrosis or as a rehabilitation measure after operations, for "over-treated" paralyses or even just for travel sickness caused by cervical spine tension, I am happy to help.
